13 Year Old Birthday Party Ideas

Turning 13 is a big deal. For many it is thought to be the doorway to adulthood. This is why most people want to make a big deal about a 13 year old birthday party. The 13th birthday party is an opportunity to create memories and also help make the transition to adulthood enjoyable.

This is the time when your child goes from being your child to being a TEENAGER! However, along with being a teenager comes high school, emotions and feelings that they are too old for ‘parties’. Pick whatever the birthday person likes to eat and make that into a ‘grown-up’ dinner party. The best thing about this idea is that it can work for boys or girls and is a great way to include the extended family like grandparents in the celebrations.

My niece is all into the ramen noodle soup trend that all the teens seem to like. This is not to be confused with the .25$ ramen soup with little packets of seasoning that poor university students eat to survive. This is the ramen soup with noodle, eggs and all kinds of good bits.

The decorations were easy enough, some asian lanterns, chopsticks and all in a black, red and white theme.

There are so many easy asian decorations to fit any theme or color that your teen would like. Being an almost teen they may want to get involved and a good way is for them to help pick the decorations, or make them themselves. Asian food boxes are a great way to add decor and the teen can even take part in decorating them.

Being a young adult, my niece wanted to take part in planning the dinner and she also made perler beads gifts for everyone at the dinner.

So back to the ramen soups. At first the thought was to make them. But having the family invited over that would be too much work. Instead we decided it was better to order out and we have this great noodle bar in Laval, KOI Noodle Bar. Everyone could order from one of the 4 options and everything came packaged and easy to do.

All the noodles and protein were in the bowls and each particular broth was there, so you simply poured it onto the bowl.

One of the great things is that you could get some really great things that you would never think to make like soy sauce flavored boiled eggs!

It’s always great to try something new and it’s a great compliment to the soup too.

The most important thing is that the 13 year old birthday teen is having THEIR best birthday! This may mean that they want something different than what you think they would like.
