Kathryn and her elf Eric have had some crazy adventures! Here are some of her best Elf on the shelf departure ideas.
If you are like me as it gets closer to Christmas you run out of ideas. When it comes to Christmas Eve, we are tired and ready for the elf to leave and never come back! If you have a kid that has anxiety and doesn’t sleep around the holidays, the elf can be even trickier.
Here are some ideas to help you send off your elf with a great departure so your kids will be excited for them to come back the following year…. if that’s what you want!
Hop on a moped
Leave them with a gift
This is a fun way that you can let kids open one gift early. It’s always a great idea to try and add something personal, like a holiday book and some treats.
Free Printable: Check out this site that has a variety of free elf report free printables.
Start the Holidays with Movies
Leave them with everything they need for a holiday movie marathon! Add in some fund games live a scavenger hunt or coupons for holiday activities or extra screen time (which is my kids favorite!).
Leaving on a (not so jet-like) plane
It’s always fun to use the props you already have around the house! Throw some cozy socks, snacks, elf report and perhaps some games into a basket to console the kids when they are missing the elf.
Leave them a Certificate
You can find a lot of free printables online, so find one that will either put your kids on the naughty or nice list.
Get them picked up by their Reindeer Friends
This is cute idea. In the photo it was used for a arrival idea, but just remove the elves, leave a note and it’s good for departures too!
Here’s another great idea. When you leave the elf report, perhaps add a cute ornament that they can put on their tree as a keepsake.
