Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Saturday September 28th and each adult entrance fee includes a bracelet, commemorative cord bag, a lantern and market to write your own personal message. The message can be anything you want for a personal dream, wish or inspirational quote. For anyone who can’t make it to the Water Lantern Festival this weekend, make sure to check out the Garden of Lights Festival taking part at the Montreal Botanical Garden September 6 to October 31, 2019.
Inspired by the ancient Chinese tradition, the fall event has a well earned reputation for the glowing lanterns of various shapes and sizes that create a magical world across all the cultural gardens of the Botanical Garden. This year the lanterns are created around the lengend of Pangu. The myth tells how before the world was formed the universe was an egg combining earth and sky.
They suggest to get the most out of your visit arrive late afternoon to admire the fall foilage and see the before and after dark magic.
