Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Perhaps because it’s in my favorite season, autumn. Or it may be that I love dressing up. Either way Halloween in Montreal is a time that has something for everyone. Besides who doesn’t love candy and scaring other people!
Not sure what to do for Halloween? Here are some things to get you in the Halloween spirit, no matter what age you are.
Fright Fest at La Ronde
If you already have a pass for La Ronde or any Six Flags park you can visit La Ronde’s Fright Fest from October 5 – 27. Be warned th epark is full of zombies and ghouls fill the streets and there is no place to hide. If you like to get scared, this is the place for you! Be warned this may be a bit scarier for smaller children.
Remember the rides close one hour before park does.
Visit Laval’s Haunted House
As a family we love escape rooms and love that we have Escaparium right here in Montreal, Laval and Sherbrooke. These people are the experts at putting together an immersive experience and don’t disappoint with their Nights of Terrors at their Laval location. In it’s first year, the Nights of Terror, is the biggest haunted house in all of Quebec! With over 15,000 square feet of scary terrains and over 25 actors, it’s surely to be an unforgettable experience.
Not a fan of scary? Than you’ll want to check out their wimpy Wednesday or Thursday nights.
The Great Pumpkin Ball
Running from October 4th to 31st the Botanical garden is hosting The Great Pumpkin Ball. You will have the opportunity to learn everything you could want about pumpkins, squashes and gourds.

Take a Haunted Ghost Tour
I love ghost tours. I have done a Ghost Tour in Quebec City, but haven’t had the chance to check out the Haunted Montreal Ghost Tours. With a near to empty downtown Montreal you will visit haunted bars, a forgotten graveyard, hotels full of paranormal activity and a once funeral home turned into trendy nightclub. With a variety of tours available from Downtown, the mountain, Griffintown and more, there is something that will interest everyone. Tours last around 90 minute each and cover 1.5 to 2 km. Did I mention they are also very affordable and you get to see the crisp autumn air and beautiful Montreal landscape? The Haunted Downtown Montreal ghost tour start is also just north of Guy-Concordia metro, so it’s convenient for anyone taking the metro.
